While we believe the formation of RACIN! has been fantastic, it’s really the people that volunteer their time and talents that truly make it a special organization.
From the initial word that someone we cared for was rejected from participating in a local race, a supportive and forward-thinking community came together to do amazing things. From all walks of life, volunteers have joined as one to make RACIN! a reality.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of these like-minded and motivated individuals, those with developmental disabilities are joining races all over Western New York.
What was a simple idea, stemming from an unfortunate circumstance, led to a gathering of amazing leaders, setting the course for RACIN!.
Now enjoying an affiliation with DDAWNY, we have a lot of people talking about our role in the developmental disability community.
All of this goes to show that when powerful, passionate people feel strongly about a cause and want to do what’s right, something special happens.
We’re excited to see how RACIN! grows from here.
